Programming instructions: Jeep keyless remote transmitters
The remote keyless entry for your Jeep has instructions distinct from the standard four sets of instructions for Daimler vehicles. There are separate instructions for Jeep vehicles and the Jeep grand Cherokee. Don’t forget to consult the owner’s manual to see if there are remote keyless entry programming instructions in there. They might save you a lot of unnecessary guesswork! If not, try these instructions for programming Jeep remotes or for programming the Jeep Grand Cherokee.
First, programming instructions for keyless entry for Jeep vehicles that may include any or all of the following: the Jeep Liberty, the Patriot, the Compass, the Wrangler and the Jeep 4x4.
A. Leave the driver’s door open but shove the door lock lever into the LOCK position
B. Insert the key and turn it to RUN without starting the vehicle.
C. Aim the remote transmitter at the receiver and press the LOCK button on the remote for five seconds.
D. You’ll know you’ve done it right if the door unlocks.
E. Unless you are programming more remotes, turn the ignition off then turn it back to the ON position within 20 seconds.
If you are programming more than one transmitter, return the driver’s door lever to the LOCK position and aim the second (third, fourth, etc.) transmitter at the receiver and press the remote’s LOCK button for five seconds. In other words, repeat step C above for any remaining transmitters you want to program then go to step E when you are done programming all your remotes. (Good luck!)
