Hello,

With my new Rav4 only 5 weeks old, I experienced the shock of a lost remote key.  I have heard  all of he stories of how expensive and hard it is to replace this key.

  I was under pressure. making a display for the lo cal county fair, but I did not expect to loose my car key. as I know now.

 into a full  watering can.

I  was using the second key and going nuts looking for the first key.. which still had the dealers  paper tag and the little aluminum code tag attached.   

I have  lost keys  before but the noise of the keys hitting the ground was the alert to, pick them up . 

 Lots of looking and 6 days later I was watering plants and a crazy  thought said just check inside. and out of the water came the key. 

I quickly dried the water off and pressed the  buttons and my car. close enough to blink and lock . worked.

Shock and hope that it will still work today sent me to the computer for information and  I found your Blog.

Has the water destroyed the key?
