Ford standardized programming information

Ford Motor Company offers standardized programming instructions for many of its models, although it has not always stuck to this standard programming. There are standard keyless entry program instructions for many models of Ford, including any F-series (the F-150, F-250, F-350, etc.), the Ford Focus, the Ford Escape, Ford Explorer, Ford Expedition, Ford Mustang, Ford Ranger and Ford Taurus. They are under the image row below.


For many older makes of Ford, previous to 1998, the instructions may be different. For many more recent models of Ford, the company may have added variations that are not account for here.

General programming instructions for all makes of Ford

So, if you're looking for something quick to try to program your Ford vehicle's keyless entry, the instructions are as follows: 


1. Insert the key into the ignition.
2. Cycle the ignition from OFF to RUN (engine off) 8 times within ten seconds, ending in the RUN position. (engine off)
3. The power door locks should cycle to indicate program mode.
4. Press any button on the fob to program, the power door locks should cycle to indicate successful programming. Repeat for additional fobs.
5. Turn the ignition off to exit program mode.
